Simon & Emma’s Story

People always ask us why we do so much for Brian House when we have never had to use their services. We always answer: ‘someone’s children aren’t as fortunate right now, and one day it might be ours’.

“We have five children, and are fortunate that none of them has ever had to use the services of Brian House.

That’s not stopped us supporting the Hospice for the past 10 years, however. If anything, it has made us even more determined to channel all our fundraising efforts into supporting Brian House.

It all began when Simon decided to run the New York marathon in 2008, and to help raise funds we decided to put on a charity ball. Every year since then we have hosted The Tinkerbell Ball in Lytham St Anne’s to raise money for Brian House. This year is the 11th Ball, and over £20,000 has been raised so far.

We have visited Brian House on numerous occasions and never fail to be touched by the dedication of the hard working staff. Seeing the children being cared for with such love always spurs us on to think of other ways we can raise money for them.

In 2017 Simon wrote a song ‘Golden Days’ and recorded it with the help of hundreds of local school children, to raise money for Brian House in its 21st year.

People always ask us why we do so much for Brian House when we have never had to use their services. We always answer: ‘someone’s children aren’t as fortunate right now, and one day it might be ours’.

We’ve made Brian House part of our family, and we hope you do the same. Every contribution helps.”
