  • We need your votes for charity film award

7th November 2019

Brian House Children’s Hospice has recently created a video to document what a children’s hospice is really like, challenging common misconceptions, as well as showcasing the Brian House story and the children that go there.

We’ve recently collaborated with video company, Standby Productions, to produce an emotive film that addresses the work that a children’s hospice provides on a day-to-day basis, from family support to care for fragile children.

Now we need your help to get to the next stage of the Charity Film Awards, by voting online for their video, so they can reach the judges’ shortlist.

The Charity Film Awards showcase some of the most effective pieces of film out there to promote vital charity work. Video is now a crucial part of many charities’ marketing strategies, to help increase awareness of their cause and engage further with new and current supporters.

Head of Fundraising, Linzi Warburton, said: “With the new Brian House video, we’re hoping to showcase the specialist, around-the-clock care that we provide to young people with life-limiting illnesses and complex needs, in a safe but vibrant environment.

“We also create lots of opportunities for our children to make memories through fun experiences, both at the hospice and with trips out to places like the zoo, the local indoor waterpark, and the beach.

“The video aims to demonstrate how these children and young people can have the best quality of life, however short.”

It costs over £1.2 million a year to keep Brian House open and provide support for the Fylde coast’s most fragile children and their families. They charity receives less than £200,000 in government funding and therefore relies heavily on the community and generous donations. The film demonstrates just how important this continued support is and the enormous, positive impact it has on everyone who needs Brian House.

Your votes will ensure that the Brian House video reaches the judges’ shortlist stage; from there, a winner will be decided. Register your email address to vote today – and don’t forget to share with your friends and family.
