Meet Ava, our new tiny fundraiser who is getting ready to run through gallons of frothy bubbles to help support her community’s most fragile youngsters.

Ava is only four years old, but for the last year she’s been asking her mum, Carolyn, if she can do something to help raise money for local poorly children.

So together they have been looking for ways to support a local children’s charity, and when they saw the Bubble Rush event advertised in support of Brian House, they knew they had found the answer.

Carolyn, whose husband Benn is manager of The Black Bull in Great Eccleston, said: “Since she was three Ava has wanted to do something to help a charity for children, and we were looking but just couldn’t find anything suitable for her with her being so young.

“When we saw the Bubble Rush we spoke about it and I showed Ava the pictures and video on the website and she said that’s what she wanted to do.

“We set up an online fundraising page and set a realistic target for Ava’s first fundraising, and to be honest I didn’t have to share it too much before it reached that target. I haven’t even done anything in the pub for it yet so hopefully we can get even more before the event.

“She’s really looking forward to doing the Bubble Rush. It looks like a lot of fun.”

We’re so proud of Ava for hitting her Bubble Rush target – she’s certainly one of our youngest fundraisers and we know how excited she is for this event.

We’re looking forward to cheering her and her family across the finish line.

Ava, who attends Butterfly Lodge Nursery on Lytham Road, and Carolyn will be joined by Carolyn’s mum, Migonne Crashley, for the event, which takes places on Lawson Field on Saturday 6th April.
