Brian House Covid-19 Update

At Brian House Children’s Hospice the safety and welfare of our patients, colleagues and volunteers is paramount. We are continually monitoring the ever changing situation and following the advice of the Government and Public Health England.

We understand this is a time of concern for everyone, but especially for our families who are caring for a child with complex health needs.

We will continue to provide our vital end-of-life care and support to the community’s most vulnerable children and their families. However, in line with new advice and guidelines we have needed to adapt our service.

• Planned respite care has been cancelled and our priority will now be end of life care and urgent emergency respite.

• Our dedicated team of nurses and healthcare assistants are continuing to offer our families support and advice, staying connected over the telephone.

• We are working with our colleagues in the NHS and other national bodies such as Together for Short Lives, Hospice UK and NHS England to look at how we can support them over the coming weeks.

• For families who use Brian House services who would like further information please contact the hospice on 01253 358881. Please also read the following Q&A produced by Together for Short Lives.

This is a difficult and challenging times for everyone and we are committed to supporting our families to the best of our ability, for as long as possible.
