With Christmas just under 11 weeks away, Brian House is getting ready for a great ‘Claus’… their annual Blackpool Santa Dash event.
The two-mile dash takes place on Sunday 1st December, when hundreds of people dressed in bright Santa suits will run along Blackpool’s Promenade – from Sandcastle Waterpark to the Manchester Pub and back – all to raise money for Brian House Children’s Hospice.
This year is also the 10th anniversary of the Santa Dash, which has raised over £200,000 for the children’s hospice. It’s a popular event with local residents, who are looking forward to Christmas, as well as supporting their local children’s hospice.
Last year, over 1,700 dashers took to the Prom, dressed head to toe in a free Santa suit, all in aid of Brian House. Participants will also receive a medal and hot chocolate to warm them up after the dash.
Event lead, Katy Green, said: “The Blackpool Santa Dash is a fantastic way to kick-start the festive season and one of the key events on our calendar.
“We can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the festivities, as well as raising lots of money for the most fragile children on the Fylde coast. We receive very little government funding, which is why events like this are so crucial to continuing our services.”
Once again, this year’s event is kindly sponsored by Kentown Wizard, who has been fundamental in supporting various Brian House events over the years.
Tickets for the event are £10 for adults, £5 for children, and £25 for a family. To make sure you have a place on the Santa Dash, book here: https://www.trinityhospice.co.uk/our-events/detail/santa-dash/.
Dogs are also allowed as long as they bring their own Santa paws.
