The event starts and finishes at the Tower Headland across from Blackpool Tower. All entertainment and our Info Point will be situated on the Comedy Carpet.

We will be accepting new registrations on the night however there are a limited number of places available and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The registration desk on the night will open at 6.30pm on the comedy carpet.
For safety reasons, this event is only open to children aged 8 and above.
All participants aged between 8 and 15 years of age MUST be accompanied by a participating adult (parent or guardian). Please see our full terms and conditions here for more information.

If you signed up after 10am on Wednesday 23rd August, you will NOT receive your pack in the post. Instead, you will need to come and collect it from the Info Point at the event as per the above.
As this is a running event and one that is chip-timed, we would love to see all our participants jog/run most if not all of Night Run. Remember though, Night Run is open to all abilities!
The run will start promptly at 8.30pm on Wednesday 30th August and has a finish time of 10:00pm. We reserve the right to impose a cut off time, to allow the site to be cleared of participants, equipment and litter prior to the road closure ending. Due to this, runners must complete within the 1 hour 30 minutes time frame. If runners are unable to complete the 7.5km route within this time they must move onto the pavement and notify their nearest Marshall.
If you think you'd prefer to take part in a walking event, check our our Memory Walk
You will have 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the route.
After this time we are required to re-open the roads and must therefore begin packing away the event.
If you don't think you're going to complete the run in this time, please let your nearest marshal or back car know.
Night Run is 7.5km
Participants will start at the Tower Festival Headland and head north along a traffic-free Promenade. You'll run under Blackpool's famous Illuminations towards the turning point at Red Bank Road, Bispham.
You will then run back along the same route to the finish line to collect your medal!
We'll give you a bottle of water on crossing the finish line, but we encourage you to bring your own.
There will also be concession stands at the event. We cannot guarantee they take card payments, so please bring change as a backup.
Yes! Taking part in this event is the perfect opportunity to have a sneak peek before the official switch-on on the Friday.
Yes, toilet facilities will be available.
Unfortunately, there will be no changing or shower facilities at the event.
We take our participants' safety very seriously at all our events. First aid will therefore be available.
If you do need assistance, please tell your nearest marshal or first aider.
No, but please ensure you complete the medical information on the reverse of your entry number ahead of the event.
Every participant MUST complete these details and pin their participant number to their t-shirt (front or back).
Friends and family are more than welcome to come and watch you take part in Blackpool Night Run!
We would love to see everyone’s photos and videos, including before and after shots.
As with all our events, there will be at least two volunteer photographers at this event. Members of our Fundraising Team will also be taking photos and capturing video.
Not much can put us off going ahead with Blackpool Night Run, so the event will still go ahead even if it's a bit cold or rainy. However, we’d definitely think twice if the wind was getting a bit much and making the event unsafe. Keep an eye on social media for updates nearer the date.
Aside from entry to Blackpool's ONLY 7.5km fun run, you'll also get:
- A Night Run t-shirt
- Unique participant number
- Bespoke medal
- Chip-timing (new for 2023)
As this year's event is free to enter, we’re kindly asking all participants to consider either raising sponsorship or making a one-off donation.
Every single pound and penny will go to Brian House Children’s Hospice; it doesn’t go towards the cost of putting on the event or all the freebies you get with your entry.
We ask that every runner try to raise or donate a minimum of £30.
If every participant raise or donated at least £30, it would raise £75,000 - just incredible!
You can raise sponsorship in two ways (you can do one or the other or both together):
Online through JustGiving
Offline using our paper sponsorship form
And it doesn't just have to be a direct ask for money. See our other ideas here.
And to say thank you, we're giving away an Apple Watch. Find out more on our 'how do I win an Apple Watch' tab.
All sponsorship and donations for to Brian House children's hospice; they do not cover the cost of the event.
If you've used JustGiving, you don't need to do anything! Your Blackpool Night Run sponsorship page will close automatically after a few months and the funds will come directly to us.
If you've collected funds offline, there are a couple of ways to get it to us:
- Bank it all and then post us a cheque made out to 'Brian House Children's Hospice'. Alternatively, call in to our Main Reception. You'll find us at Low Moor Road, Bispham, FY2 0BG.
Please make sure you include a note with your full name, address and contact telephone number on. It would also help if you told us the sponsorship money has been raised through Night Run.
- Use our donation form on our website, selecting Night Run as your option.
However you collect and submit your sponsorship, remember to ask everyone who’s eligible to GiftAid their contribution – it would mean we get an extra 25% from the Government at no extra cost to the person, all by just by ticking a box. How good is that?
We understand that not everyone wants to or is able to raise sponsorship, but still wants to do their bit for Brian House.
If that's you, don't worry! Instead, you can make a one-off donation for as much as you'd like on our dedicated donation page.
Whilst every amount is hugely appreciated, we're kindly asking that everyone considers donating £30. If every person can do that, it'll help raise an incredible £75,000 for our children's hospice.
And if you donate over £50, you'll be in with a chance of winning an Apple watch worth over £200! You can find out more in our tab below.
All sponsorship and donations for to Brian House children's hospice; they do not cover the cost of the event
We're sorry to hear you can no longer take part!
To free up your place for someone else and to avoid us printing/posting your pack unnecessarily, we'd be really grateful if you could let us know by emailing kayleigh.penn1@nhs.net
We also ask that you don't give your entry to someone else without letting us know. Every participant number and chip tag is unique and assigned to your details. By passing it on to someone else, they won't be able to get their chip results.
Thank you
We do not offer bag storage at this event for safety reasons and due to the number of participants.
Please bring minimal possessions to run with or ask friends or family to look after them, if they're coming to spectate.
Unfortunately, we don't allow dogs at Night Run.
We have 4,000 participants so it would be a safety hazard for both your dog and our runners.
Dogs are welcome at Blackpool Memory Walk and Santa Dash though!
There are lots of pay and display carparks around Blackpool town centre, however these get extremely busy so please allow enough time to find a space and get to the Tower Headland.
If you need to park further out or are planning to use public transport, the tram is a great option. This runs from Fleetwood to Starr Gate and stops at the Tower Headland/Comedy Carpet where you will need to jump off.
Please check our terms and conditions as your questions may be answered here

As a Night Run participant you'll be in with a chance of winning an Apple Watch if you raise or donate over £50!
How to raise sponsorship or donate
- Raise sponsorship online through JustGiving: set up a page and share it across social media, in emails and via WhatsApp.
- Fundraise offline and collect in the money using our paper sponsor form: if you don't just want to ask people to sponsor you, think outside the box. You could host a bake sale, sell unwanted items online or at a carboot, or even run a sweepstake asking people to guess your chip time.
- Make a one-off donation: just use our online donation form.
